December 2021 yuletide period was a time I really looked forward to experience like never before in my life. I had it all planned out and made sure I enjoyed it to the fullest.
I decided it will be in Lagos as the City has been the place I’ve always experience loads of fun any time I visit. I have family relations and friends who always made it a 100% fun for me with no apologies.
I had planned my Detty December to commence on Friday 24th December 2021, the very day I flew in from Enugu. It was to be a one-week vacation for me and I planned to go back to Enugu on 31st to join my parents for the New Year.
This faithful Friday, all arrangements have been made and I flew out of Enugu by 4:30pm for Lagos. I never told anyone to come pick me up at the airport because this is not my first time of being to Lagos and I know my way. We landed safely and I booked an Uber to take me to my Island destination.
I intentionally planned to arrive Lagos City on a Friday being the day most weekend social activities start. This is to enable me start my one-week vacation almost immediately I touch down. So immediately I arrived my cousin’s place in Lekki, the atmosphere in the house was already heated up. I met their friends in the house, especially the ones that came from abroad. There was food and assorted drinks including loud music. I knew my Detty December has commenced.
My cousin have made a list of the places we will visit, so as to make each day a memorable one for me and everybody that joined us. So this very Friday night they planned it will be clubbing all the way. I was so excited. Exactly 10pm, we were all set with our sexy outfits and soon after that we hit our first club. We went to 3 different clubs but the third club which was Quilox really made my night. There I met a lot of Nigerian artistes and Nollywood stars.
The next day was Christmas and we all woke up tired due to the night outing. But again, it’s Christmas, so we needed to honor that day. By 12pm we headed to the Church. Though we came very late because immediately we arrived, the church was almost ended. But we were happy we did as we still did some prayers, gave offering and also met some friends that we took pictures with. It was fulfilling for us.
We went back home and continued with our fun at home till 4pm we left for the cinemas. Our house is always filed with drinks so going to the cinema, we were all intoxicated with alcohol. We arrived, got our tickets and joined the room. Few minutes to the movie, we were all sleeping. We almost slept all through the movie time when my cousin woke us up to leave. It was not funny.
The next day was Sunday so we decided to go to the beach by visiting Landmark Beach in Victoria Island. We went in the morning by 10am when the beach was not crowded and it was the best time. We relaxed and enjoyed the cool breeze from the ocean, did some swimming, took pictures and played some games before we left by 3pm.
Monday 27th was a public holiday and there were loads of concerts line up to attend. we rested the who day at home and decided to attend Burna Boy’s Live Experience concert which was power packed with good music and performances.
The next day being 28th, we experienced an embarrassing outing. It was also a public holiday so we went to a party. It was fully packed with ladies and guys that I became afraid not to contact coronavirus. we danced and drank so well that I passed by gauge. I saw myself throwing up in the dance floor. All the meat and rice and champagne I took I threw them out in front of the guests. My cousins took me out and that was how we left there. I learnt my lessons.
Between 29th -30th December, it was mad fun back to back per minute per hour. From one location to another. Still on drinking, dancing, meeting new friends, eating, going to the movies and restaurants. Did I mention Sex? Well, I had sex once with a new friend I met in one of the days. It was just crazy and that was that.
Finally, my day of departure back to Enugu came, it’s time to go back to base as planned. I felt like not going back but I had to leave. Looking back at my one-week vacation fun itinerary, I was happy it all ended well as planned. It was indeed Detty. My cousins took me to the airport for my 2pm flight and I left for good.
I’ve read loads of Detty December stories online, so I decided to put down mine because I had so much fun in Lagos and may repeat another vacation by Easter. This time we may call it Detty Easter.
